Open Life By Joseph Campbell In the novel, An Open Life, by Joseph Campbell, I agree that life is like a novel and that disasters result in structuring a great aspect of your life. If you really think about what Mr. Campbell is saying, he is right. Looking back at my life with all the ups and downs I have experienced, made me who I am now, which is a great thing. I had an experience with a boyfriend which caused me to get a great job to make as much money as my Mother. A reading that makes me agree with Mr. Campbell quote, was when I read my Mother's journal that she kept from the start of my birth until I was ten. An observation that I got to see was from the movie Don't be a Menace to Society While Drinking your Juice in the Hood. In this movie, Ashtray becomes a man by observing on how his friends are. I agree with Joseph Campbell, that life is like a novel. An experience I had with the opposite sex made me who I am now. One evening my boyfriend and I agreed that we would go out with some friends, and go our separate ways. When he left, I called my friend to see if she wanted to do something. We ended up going to the movies. During the movie I noticed that my friend wanted to tell me something but backed off for a while. When she could not hold it any longer, she told me to look back. When I did, I saw my now ex-boyfriend making out with a girl. I was devastated when I had seen that, I even ended up quitting college for this. I was thinking about this all day and forgot to realize that I had a math exam the next day. So what I did was that I quit college. My Mom was very upset that I had quit for such a reason. It was impossible living with my Mom when this had happened. She did not like the fact that I quit school and did not even have a job to take advantage of. But a couple of weeks later, YOUR NAME 3 opportunity came ringing on the phone. My aunt called and told me that she was looking for an assistant. I went the next day for an interview and got hired on the spot. Till this day I am working at Century 21 Su Casa, a real estate company, making almost as much money as my mother. Sometimes I think that if this would have never happened, where would I be or what would I be doing? If this disaster would have never happened to me, then my life would be different than how it is now. Reading my Mother's journal makes me agree with Mr. Campbell. She had kept this journal from my birth until I was ten years old. According to my Mom thought now for me was the right age to learn where I came from and the disasters my Mom had to go through. In this journal she states that when I was younger my mother left my father because of his drinking problem. When this happened she had to claim welfare for about one year. During this year my mom could have just decided to stay on welfare for the rest of her life, but she got smart, went to college and got a degree in Business. If my mom would have not gotten smart during this period we would have probably still been on welfare, but thanks to mom she gave us a better life. She now has more than enough money to support us both. Nothing could be better, we have our own house, and each a car. This proves that problems whether big or small structure a great aspect of your life. By observing the movie, Don't be a Menace to Society While Drinking your Juice in the Hood, we see that Ashtray by observing on how his friends made him to become a better person. What I observed from this movie was that Ashtray's friends were playing with women and not take responsibility toward their actions. Most of all his friends had had enpregnated women and did not even care for the children. This girl that YOUR NAME 4 lived in the same block as Ashtray and his friends was very easy to get in bed. Frogs live in all parts of the world. They live in dry, wet, hot and cold climates- from the Arctic Circle to the tropical rainforests and all the climates in between. They have extremely incredible survival techniques allowing them to live in these extreme climates. Two main strategies are hibernation and estivation. Hibernation is the central response to cold temperatures. The animal’s metabolism slows down extremely, so the body does not use energy moving around. It then goes to â€Å"sleep† so it can utilize the stores of energy already in the body. It first must find a place to hibernate- called a hibernaculum- which will protect it from predators and extreme winter weather. After the winter is over, the frog â€Å"wakes up,† leaves the hibernaculum, and gets back to its normal activities of breeding and feeding. The hibernaculum depends of course on the type of frog. Many frogs are terrestrial, and either dig into the ground or find deep crevices in rocks or logs. These cracks sometimes freeze, however, along with the frog. However, these frogs do not die- ice crystals may form in the body of the frog, but a high concentration of glucose in the frogs organs act as antifreeze and prevent the untimely demise of the frog. When the hibernaculum is graced by spring, the organs warm up and the frog wakes again. Frogs also hibernate underwater- however, they cannot do it deep in the mud like many turtles- they need more oxygen than is provided by the mud. They are usually partially buried or floating on top of the water, and may even swim around slowly during the period of hibernation. The second general method of survival for a frog is estivation. In tropical regions, often a dry season will ensue. When this happens, a frog in these climates will burrow into the ground and become dormant, just like in hibernation. Estivation, however, is to prevent loss of water during this dry season. This is accomplished by shedding multiple layers of skin after dormancy, providing a near watertight skin, leaving a hole only to breathe. The water is then kept within the frog’s body. When the dry season ends, the frog emerges and resumes normal activity. Hibernation and estivation are direct examples of homeostasis. They both represent forms of torpor, which is a decrease in metabolism to deal with external change. Homeostasis consists of an organism controlling its internal environment to cope with change in the external environment. In the case of hibernation, the cold weather initiates a change in the body of the frog. Its metabolism slows to a rate where it only needs the energy from matter only on the body, and in extreme cases, when the frog freezes, the heart and lungs even stop operating, only to resume again when the temperature gets warmer. Estivation is another form of torpor, a homeostatic mechanism. It decreases the metabolism, but not to survive cold temperatures. When a frog gets hot in a dry climate, it can lose too much water and die. Thus frogs that live in a climate that varies dramatically in precipitation use this mechanism to preserve their water until the humidity returns to a favorable state. This should take a little bit of time to complete. You want the document you deliver to be detailed, polished, and well-planned. These will be the endpoints you work toward. Use the SMART Methodology You may have heard us mention SMART goals  on the blog (or elsewhere). If you’re unfamiliar, that’s okay. The SMART methodology provides a simple framework for effective goal setting. Set Business Goals For Your Client Next, outline tangible business goals. This could include: Generating leads Raising brand awareness and cultivate brand loyalty Increasing sales and revenue These specific goals will depend on your prospect’s business needs. You should have some idea what these are after your initial discussions with them. Determine Metrics You’ll Monitor In order to reach your goals, you’ll need to determine which metrics matter. Applying the right data will help you know if you’re succeeding, and prove it to your client. Traffic: How much traffic are you sending to your website? This is often key for driving leads. Follower Growth: The more followers, the better. However, it’s important to make sure you’re attracting the right followers (meaning, followers who fit the client’s desired, target audience). Educational Philosophy Statement :: Education Teaching Teachers Essays

Educational Philosophy Statement I wrote my first educational philosophy during my first semester in college. Now I have earned 67 hours of college credit, gaining more knowledge in all areas. My determination to earn a teaching degree remains strong, and my self-motivation is ever-present. I also have a large support group of friends and family who encourage me to continue even though my peers are retiring. The high school teacher that sparked my desire to teach continues to encourage my efforts also. My philosophy of education has changed slightly. I still believe that children are eager to please and ready to learn. My experience in a Russian orphanage with 350 orphans has made me more aware of children’s needs, physically and emotionally. Upon returning home from this trip, my eyes were opened to the needs of children in our community and state. I am more aware of the strong need for an education for each and every child. My views on the purpose of education have broadened, and I understand the value of quality education. Not only does an education prepare the student for his/her adult life, but also it boosts an individual’s self esteem to the highest level possible. I have experienced this first-hand and feel more comfortable and self-assured since taking college courses. The knowledge I have gained has given me confidence that only higher learning can give. I want to instill this philosophy into my students to increase their desire to learn. They need to know that an education can help them reach their goals in life. My view about my method of teaching has slightly changed. I will still use learning centers, hands-on activities, and creative play, but I have learned that a student must be challenged. A student who doesn’t feel challenged by his schoolwork soon becomes bored and uninterested. Learning must be exciting and rewarding. My views on curriculum haven’t changed much. I still see reading as the most important subject, along with writing. While taking several English courses, I found a love and appreciation of literature and writing.

In Pakistan many media groups reporting without realizing its impact on our socio-economic environment and deep rooted cultural impact. We have seen in past that misreporting by print and electronic mainstream media regarding shia-sunni conflicts created anger and anxiety amongst different sects led to horrible sectarian violence. Beside, reporting regarding terrorist attacks and rape case are arrogantly presented. Lack of trusted networks for reporting or contribution the most sensitive issue in fair manners and due to less reliance on what traditional media portray in daily business of dissemination of audio video contents, the literate society has started believing on what new media presents in various forms. Equipped with the power of abundant sources of news and information ((via broadband, G3, G4 and web3) about any country or region the new media is rapidly making its footing worldwide. Mainstream media are the most important source, but not the only one. With the development of communication technologies, people now have access to a huge amount of information that was unthinkable 20 years ago. People can watch live proceeding of parliament, or read a transcript of it within hours. One can see press releases from newsmakers published on hundreds of websites, providing submission and distribution services on internet. New-style electronic formats, such as Internet discussion groups and chat rooms, create new public spaces and provide unprecedented opportunities for cultural and political discourse. Ecology of news and the style of passing on information have been changed dramatically. Geographical separation is not a big problem due to network linkage. The reason for this shift is that mainstream media is violating by keeping the important news with them and deliberately hiding facts from public eyes. Sensationalism in news and to be first in breaking news is considered as pride without knowing its impact on nation al security and integrity. Pakistani media regulators and broadcasters perhaps not aware what the west is doing through media. They must watch reports of PRESS TV.COM AND RT.COM. The West is swiftly and successfully achieving its targets one by one by to destabilize the situation in Syria, recently in Gaza. Author and investigative journalist Webster Tarpley has pointed in an interview at Russian Television (RT.COM) first English language TV that US Intelligence has announced the partition of Pakistan. Another report revealed in foreign media that US Special Forces have conducted secret raids inside Pakistan’s border regions. The operations were conducted between 2003 and 2008, but only one was ever made public. The mainstream media of Pakistan kept quite on these issues. In many cases Taliban refused to take responsibility for some explosions in public places in Pakistan than who is behind these brutal acts. Our investigative reporters are not well equipped to search the truth and report. Our media is highlighting issue base politic and projecting their allocated parties. Critical issues of society which should be the prime priority at present stage are not being suitably covered by any media outlet. Strong reaction in recent past has been seen in UK and USA where  people registered their protest and strongly criticize the biased, planned and narrow coverage of world affairs by the established media giants like Fox News, the BBC and NBS. Media regulators are seems to be helpless and may be part of this wrongdoing. Situation in Pakistan is changing rapidly and people have lost trust on the directed coverage of Pakistan’s media. Pakistan electronic media are being run by the print media journalists with no experience of working in electronic media and producing substandard and distorted facts. Broadcasters are making billions in profits while using the public airwaves. In return, they are not producing programmes that fulfill community needs. Because of above cited problems and the attitude of media groups of Pakistan people have started march against mainstream media using social media as a viable, quick and authentic source.
